Award: R.H. AND JANE LOGAN SCHOLARSHIP FUND

History of the Scholarship:

The Logan Scholarship is the result of a planned gift from the late Jane and R.H.
“Rock” Logan, San Francisco Bay Area philanthropists who also established similar
endowments at his alma mater, Washington State University; Heritage University,
also in the state of Washington; and Holy Names College in Oakland, California.

Rock Logan was a founding partner of the Oakland Raiders NFL franchise and a
supporter of the San Francisco 49ers. He made his fortune as a builder and
developer. He was also an accomplished artist, well known in the West for his
watercolors. He had numerous one-man gallery shows and was a member of the
Western Society of watercolorists. The Logans enjoyed sailing on San Francisco Bay
and loved music, both classical and jazz, and were longtime supporter of both the
Oakland and San Francisco symphony orchestras.

“Jane G. Logan is a woman of tremendous talent and unbounded generosity. She
was not a daughter of wealth or privilege, but she has made of her life a triumph,
because of her great caring for those in need. Jane and her beloved husband Rock
Logan were simply not the kind of people who sat on the sidelines. They rolled up
their sleeves, called their friends and got busy working to make the world a better
place.” Her family that remain believe that she has left the world in a better place too.

The R.H. and Jane Logan Scholarship program is for students with financial need
who seek a degree in education and intend to teach in public schools. Annual
scholarships are awarded to undergraduates majoring in education and graduate
students in both the UOTeach licensure program and special education.

The award recipients will be selected on the basis of the following criteria:
