Description of opportunity:

I am looking for 1-2 students who are interested in handling animal remains from an archaeological site from the Oregon coast. I need help sorting, re-bagging, and re-organizing bones, as well as entering these specimens into a database.

Number of opportunities available: 1-2

Specific tasks involved:

-Sorting and labeling bones
-Data entry

Professional development and or skills to be gained:

-Familiarity with a range of marine mammals and birds.
-Excel skills.
-Basic statistical analyses.
-A greater understanding for the process/flow of typical archaeological lab work.

Any certification, clearance, and/or previous training/experience required?

-Confident with Excel.
-Previous experience with bones (any species) not necessary but may be helpful.
-I am looking for students with excellent attention to detail.
