Research Methods Goals Reflection

It is the first time I touch formal research method. From the class and literature review I knew some basic research knowledge and method. At the final of this term class I choose three of methods to use to my topic.

1. In fact, I know little about American research method and I don’t know exactly process about doing a research. From this class I want to learn systemic research method, maybe not too deep, but I want to learn the outline.

From the class I review some of research books, which teach me what is research, what kind of methods are there have. Now I know the difference between quantitative and qualitative tradition, know difference methodologies. Although I still have some questions, I set up a outline to this.

2. Through this class I want to find a topic that I really like and worthy to do research. Because now I even don’t have idea what aspect I would like to do research.

In the learning process, I find I am interested in social social marketing. After discussion with advisor I already have a direction about my research topic. Although it maybe not my final topic, I set up the outline of it.

3. I want to learn some specific and professional research methods, such as hypothetical data collection, focus group and so on.

By taking class and reviewing books I have learn some of specific research method. Now I know Interview, Survey, Observation, case study, etc. All of these are research methods. I also can according to my interesting topic to choose appropriate methods.

4. I prefer to read some books or useful materials about this aspect to help me know more about it.

In this term, I have read some research method books, journal articles and capstones. All of these literature help me have a better study to research method.

 

MKTG II goals reflection

In this winter term, about MKTG II class, we mainly focus on marketing strategy rather than specific computer design skill. We began to learn the category of marketing, and then choose strategy to make our own marketing plan, I think it is real marketing knowledge I want to study. I am interested in this term’s assignment and class.

– Continue to do case study, I want to change another company to do, because the company I did last term is not appropriate, I will learn little and will be difficult to research it. So firstly I want to find another one to continue my marketing study.

By the end of this term I finished the whole assignment of marketing plan, I also changed another non-profit organization as my case study and I found China Institute I changed is more appropriate, they have detailed information, which help me a lot.

I want to learn about marketing strategies, what kinds of approaches are there have, and what are the advantages and disadvantages.

In class, we discussed and learned many marketing strategies, cause marketing, content marketing, coupon marketing, email marketing, etc. Each marketing strategy has different samples. We also have assignment to choose three marketing strategy to design our own marketing plan. Through SWOT and strategy weakness analysis, I know the strength and shortcoming of each strategy.

After learning the theoretically marketing approaches, I want to know how to use them in practice. Because we will have internship during summer, I want to apply these knowledge into work.

We focus on the Oregon Contemporary Theater and compose group to analyse their marketing strategy and design new strategies by our own, so we already use them into practice.

I am confused about corporate sponsion, so I want to learn more about it.

In doing my marketing plan assignment, China Institute is a non-profit culture organization, I review their corporate programs, their leadership structure, which help me have a new cognition about this question.
