Media draft plan——China Institute

It is the second part course of media and marketing. Through the last full term, I studied some soft design skills, while this winter term I want to learn more about systemic and practical marketing knowledge, because I realize I am lack of a complete system of knowledge of marketing and lack of practicing. Here are my learning goals:

• Continue to do case study, I want to change another company to do, because the company I did last term is not appropriate, I will learn little and will be difficult to research it. So firstly I want to find another one to continue my marketing study.
• I want to learn about marketing strategies, what kinds of approaches are there have, and what are the advantages and disadvantages.
• After learning the theoretically marketing approaches, I want to know how to use them in practice. Because we will have internship during summer, I want to apply these knowledge into work.
• I am confused about corporate sponsion, so I want to learn more about it.

I talk with Pooria Manoochehri, the second year student, to learn and discuss his research methods. He focuses on international and cross-culture interactions within a Eugene arts and culture district. The research methods he uses include extensive review of existing documents and website, site observations and key information interviews. From this talk, I come up with my learning goals about the class.

Ÿ1. In fact, I know little about American research method and I don’t know exactly process about doing a research. From this class I want to learn systemic research method, maybe not too deep, but I want to learn the outline.

Ÿ2. Through this class I want to find a topic that I really like and worthy to do research. Because now I even don’t have idea what aspect I would like to do research.

Ÿ3. I want to learn some specific and professional research methods, such as hypothetical data collection, focus group and so on.

Ÿ4. I prefer to read some books or useful materials about this aspect to help me know more about it.
