I chose this artifact because it was very fun to do since it gave me an opportunity to collage by using exist Google images. By finishing this assignment, I also had a better understanding of what are some special characters an artist need to be in my mind. The only concerned I had when I googled images was the copyright, I was worried about the authenticity of my collage because I did not know if anyone else used the same images as I did, and I was not sure if I allowed to use these images. So I think it is true that sometimes copyright prevents one’s creativity, yet it is still significant on protecting the original creator’s right.

Basically my top ten words for being an artist were inspiration, colorful, passion, creativity, unique, critical, independence, inner peace, lonely, and hard-working. To be honest, if I have not experienced the intensive studio works this term, I probably would not including words like lonely or inner peace. In the past few years of studying art, I thought talent or gift is the most important character to be an artist, but now I would like to say without enjoying lonely and keeping inner peace, an artist would not become an great artist. So this artifact really helped me with realizing this, I appreciated it.

Future goals:

Because this assignment was so interesting and fun to do, I want to practice myself by using the same idea: defining the objective, and searching images to form a new collage. Since it relates to copyright, I might use pictures that I own instead of downloading images from google. And I want to know more about the authenticity of modern artist’s works, and how can people or law draw the line between plagiarism and creative works.
