Journal:

You will be required to do a variety of journal entry assignments throughout the term that will be part of your seminar portfolio.   This journal will be part of your UO Blogs seminar site.

Each journal entry is important to the completion of the seminar and adds up over time in less formalized ways than the Reports, Creative Displays, and Final Project. Journal assignments allow you flexibility to experiment with ideas, ask questions, and take some creative risks before formalizing your work for the general public.

We will review your journal entries throughout the term to give you proper credit.   All entries will be scored for basic completion credit that will = ✓ (5 points).

Entries that expand beyond basic completion of the task will be scored with a + (2-5 Points).   This expansion of the journal entries will show that the student included the following: 1) added new content to the materials presented on by the instructors, guests, course readings, etc.; 2) added a substantial new viewpoint to the content presented on for journal assignment; or 3) raised significant questions or provided pertinent examples that move course dialogue and work together forward in relevant ways.
