Final Project Paper and Creative Display

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

This will be an engaging culmination of our work together during the term. All prior reports and creative display work should feed directly into the development of the final project. You will be finalizing your Reports and Creative Display work completed throughout the term into a final presentation format that is professionally exhibited with work by others in the class.   This should not just be a reiteration of prior work leading to this point. Rather, your final project presentation and paper should be a rich, rewarding visual and research showcase of the work you have diligently pursued during the term, individually and as a group. Final projects are directed by and act as analytical/reflective tools culminating the term’s research for individual students as well as inspiring further thinking, research, and creation by others.

This project and presentation replace a final exam in the course.

Depth of thought and quality of presentation and writing will be considered for grading purposes (see creative projects/presentation rubric on the course site for general expectations).

Final Creative/Research Projects will be formally presented during Week 10 of the class to an invited group of faculty, staff, and students.

For the final iteration of your project paper/report, make certain that you revise Report 4 and have included additional information on the following:

  1. Briefly describe the key features of your project.
  2. Briefly describe the key purpose of your project
  3. Briefly describe the key creative aspects of your project.
  4. Describe how the project highlights & supports course concepts.
  5. Describe how the project highlights & supports your own creativity.
  6. What did you learn from this process/project? (about the artist, the science, the creative and exhibit process, your own understandings and reflections, etc.)
  7. Provide examples of how you want people to engage with your design/research? What do you want them to learn/do/take away from it?

For the final iteration of your creative display, make certain that you revise Creative Display 2 for a professional appearance that:

  1. Briefly describes your key goals and features for the project
  2. Showcases your selected artist and the science involved
  3. Is visually appealing as well as offers key information
