In cooperation with the South Waterfront 20/20 Art, Culture & Science Committee, South Waterfront Community Relations and the University of Oregon are happy to announce the UO/SWF Artist in Residence Program’s winter artist, Craig Hickman, Professor of Art at the University of Oregon. Craig will be living in the John Ross, teaching at the University of Oregon White Stag Building and creating in the John Ross Plaza Studio. More details about his residency coming soon!

Craig Hickman has been teaching digital arts courses at UO for the past 25 years. His creative practice centers on photography, software development, artist’s books, and physical computing. In 1975 he, along with 4 other photographers, established Blue Sky Gallery in Portland. Blue Sky quickly gained a reputation for showing photographers in the early stages of their careers that later went on to become well known. Craig recently had his physical computing projects, called the Enigma Gadgets, featured in the popular Make Magazine Blog. Check out examples of his work at his web site, http://dryreading.com.
