One of the performances titled Harmonic Tremors” is a new group work that highlights creative works from four UO departments: dance, art, music and geological sciences. The fourteen-minute piece is choreographed by Brad Garner, assistant professor, Department of Dance, features an original score by Jeremy Schropp, a graduate student in electronic music, a dual-channel digital animation by John Park, an instructor of digital arts, Department of Art, and costumes by designer Dawn Marks.? With the help of geologists, Ruby McConnell and Kathy Cashman, this creative team has drawn inspiration from the subject of volcanoes, specifically how volcanoes impact and reflect the human experience.? “Harmonic Tremors” explores this dynamic phenomenon through dance and multimedia to create a three-dimensional experience that will literally leave audiences shaken.
