Documenting the folk art of China and sharing the talent of these artists on the world-wide web is a mutual goal of the UO’s Center for Community Arts and Cultural Policy, Shandong University of Art and Design in Jinan, China, and the Cultural Heritage Alliance at the University of Central Florida. The partners launched the ChinaVine project, a website that documents artisan folk art traditions, in May 2007. Next week, this project will reach another milestone when Shandong University president, Dr. Pan Leusheng, president of the Shandong University of Art and Design, and his delegation visit the UO campus.
