Second L.A. exhibition showcases art professor's evolution of works on paper

Charlene Liu: Cloud Fruit

Charlene Liu’s new body of work, “As If It Were A Slow Echo” is on exhibit at the Taylor De Cordoba art gallery in Los Angeles until December 19. Liu, assistant professor of art and area coordinator of the printmaking program, held her previous exhibition in 2007 at the L.A. gallery. Two years ago, her work presented cheerier pastoral landscapes, and her current exhibition features a newer, darker evolution into organic nature motifs; showing reoccurring shapes and patterns fitted into resonating abstractions.
