Event: November 14, 2007
Jeffrey Stuhr, Portland award-winning architect, to lecture on Wednesday, November 14 at the UO Portland Center, 722 S.W. 2nd Avenue in downtown Portland. His noon lecture is open to students, area professionals, and the public.
Jeff Stuhr is a co-founder and partner at Holst Architecture. Holst’s Belmont Lofts have been published nationally, and their EcoTrust building is cited in David Miller’s book Toward a New Regionalism as an example of the environmentally aware architecture for which the Pacific Northwest is becoming known.
His talk will address the firm’s “experience with various infill projects in the Central City – dealing creatively with the constraints of Portland’s 200′ x 200′ grid, low allowable heights, and restrictive FAR. I will also touch on the anticipated updates to the Central City Plan, the city’s current design review processes, and discuss whether it is time to rethink our urban vision for the next 25 years.”
Featured projects will include 937 Condominiums, Ziba World Headquarters, 12.5 Townhouses and the Clinton Condominiums.
