Review 1: Concept

Review 1: Concept

Two-Word Title, typically this can include the quality, an design strategy and or context. Example: Integrated Making  (See Description and Program post)

Thesis Paragraph, consider highlighting key words that link the idea, quality and conditions.

  • Sentence 1, What is your idea, why is it important and who does it affect? Be concise. Example: “My project investigates the spatial integration of bicycle production as a maker space in Portland, especially targeting the 35% of its citizens who identify as bike users.”
  • Sentence 2, What are three conditions of your quality/affect?  Example: “Spatial integration of bike production happens across the scales of human interaction in production: solitude, small scale prototype making, test rides and collaborative design meeting.”
  • Sentence 3, What strategies or approaches support the experience of that affect?   Example: “The slipping of spaces and maximization of contact of these spaces, in a non-linear organization vs traditional assembly line, will support this human experience of integrated production.”

Presentation Date: Monday, October 19th

Presentation Format: (1) 32″ x 40″ vertical poster, all models should be presented on a box or stand below the poster.  Drawings should be small and delicate.  Consider hierarchy of image size on the board.

Try to include photos of key models with possible hand annotations drawn and scanned on your posters.

Consider the lessons from ARCH 610- line work, line weight, coordinating a highlight color (or close color spectrum), series of drawings, etc.  The first line drawings of the circles in the office, studio, Hearth and outside LA 206 were so elegant.  Qualitative study could come in photographing models, concept images and Photoshopping in people in color (consider motion blur in Photoshop).
