Topic_02: Subtractive Stack of Logs
- Start with max size of shape
- Subtract from object with Boolean Difference
- Create an object that represents the negative space, or space you want to cut away > put on VOIDS layer
- Type BOOLEANDIFFERENCE > select surfaces to subtract from > select surfaces to subtract with
- Move VOID object or turn layer off to see resulting shape
- Manipulate object surfaces
- Type EXPLODE > now object surfaces are individual surfaces
Topic_03: Make2D
- Creating a 3D Diagram of 3D object
- Set the View
- Save the view
- Output 3D object to 2D graphic
- Select objects > type MAKE2D > enter > check MAINTAIN SOURCE LAYERS > check HIDDEN LINES on > hit ok
- Double click into TOP view (note: make sure Gumball is on so you can easily find your Make2d)
- Creating a Plan of 3D object
- Type CLIPPING PLANE > drag and drop any rectangle to indicate the plane
- Put clipping plane on its own layer
- Select clipping plane > go to properties > clipping plane icon > turn on top view
- Go to top view > select objects the clipping plane is cutting through (do not include clipping plane in selection > type MAKE2D > check on CLIPPING PLANE INTERSECTIONS > hit ok
