Eugene sometimes experience short burst of smoky days due to wild fires in or close to the city. Last fall, there was about 2-3 smoky days when I was in school. The air smell smoky and burning. The other event that I experience was the air quality in 2017 when the smoke covers Eugene for weeks and months. This peak my interest in understanding what affects air quality in Eugene. The main cause of bad air quality is attributed to wildfires in late summer and early fall as well as wood burning due to cold weathers in the winter. Since we are past peak wild fire season, bad air quality spikes might be caused by wood burning. As of recently, through air quality index in Eugene, the air quality is safe and stable. It will be interesting to understand the air quality and what affects its changes in our site.

Ok. GOod. And good to see you again!!
Lets step back and first ask what we can measure at the small scale between build locations about sources and sensitivities. We start with analysis. Begin to ask what types of shops and other urban design qualities are indicators of sources and sensitivities. What can we measure in the private spaces of shops / shop fronts and then in the public spaces. We can look for carefully at this on thursday. Good. LRAPA is a great source!! Also look at Oakridge problems and solutions. Portland too.
