The environmental quality of the places we live and work have a significant impact on our health. The areas where people spend the most time (e.g. living and working) will have a significant impact on their health. In particular, the air quality of the places we spend time in will impact our respiratory health.

The climate in Eugene is extremely humid, with an average annual humidity at 83%. Moisture is an environment in which molds and bacteria thrive, which can damage respiratory health. We’re interested in studying how effectively urban areas handle moisture onsite, and what the implications might be on human health. Again, this would have the largest impact on the people that live and work at the sites studied.
