I know that data privacy laws are changing across the world. When speaking about large data sets that may be collected in ways where privacy will change (i.e. phone location information), is this something that we need to be aware of and try and anticipate? Will the way research can be used change for a conclusion published using data governed by privacy laws that may change over time?
What are some of the best public source datasets currently out there? I only know a few, and I’m curious for input on other’s favorites.
These are interesting questions. This got me thinking about the use of AI and how AI will affect data mining. There are already groups raising the alarm that research publications are increasing at a rate that suggests the use of AI tools.

I thought about the privacy vilation in this research. I questioned for the Flckr research, where these people aware of the data collected? It seems like it was just for research but definatly in a gray area of using peoples data.
