Transportation affects the way we interact with the community we live in. For that reason, transportation, and the access to efficient and safe transportation is something I would like to research. Unless you are on campus or live near campus, the walkability of Eugene decreases as you ambulate around the campus and downtown locations.

Public transportation in Eugene is inextricably tied to underrepresented urban and semi-urban groups.

One of the many principles for the University of Oregon’s campus plan includes transportation for students. These connections to the university reach into the community to serve not only students but employees of the university, too. One part of the research could include the potential transportation locations that benefit students, employees, and the greater Eugene community.

Transformation of the car-centric mode is important to analyze, but the environmental impacts of changing our asphalt corridors will be a difficult reality to convert.

I want to explore specific sites around Eugene that can be analyzed to pair specific transportation needs to that location from bicycle, tram, train, rapid transit, bus.

Can you create a “thick corridor” of transportation to serve all needs?
