1.1 Research

My relationship with the city of Eugene is a pretty intimate one as I am one of the locals of this area. For me, growing up in different areas of Eugene showed me that although we have many issues, one of the most pressing is our homeless population. Over the years there has been a large movement to make this better, one of the groups that emerged is called SquareOne Villages. In an attempt to be part of the solution to homelessness, SquareOne Villages started to design tiny home villages stretching over about 1 acre of land. Funded by donations and volunteers they successfully built their first village for very low-income people and since have built many other villages and become a model for other states. One of these villages I would like to research more and potentially use for my project for this class.
