Safe Walkability_Valeria Mena

Walking is the most accesible form of transportation for everyone. That is why my problem of interest is safe walkability. According to Walk Score downtown Eugene is 91/100 walkable city. That does not mean is safe for the pedestrian or people in bikes. Wlaking is better for the environment so we need to find a way to make sidewalks more safe for pedestrians to take advantage of walking. Cars are dominating way of transportation so walking next to a car is not that safe. Sidewalks are critical for creating a safe space for pedestrians. Around the site there is plenty of space to walk but is not safe. The curb is next to the street and no buffer has being implemented.
