Many areas of Eugene are considered to be very walkable and easy to navigate. And while this may be true in terms of critical places being close by such as grocery stores, restaurants, and transit stations, it is lacking in terms of how enjoyable it actually is to travel around this area. In many areas of Eugene, pedestrians are faced with narrow sidewalks, heavy traffic they have to cross, as well as being in a consistently loud environment. I think that especially our site since it holds the farmers market makes it an optimal location for pedestrians to have a space to gather and walk about without facing some of the issues that come with a car-focused space.
