- The data researched and analyzed in the Data dimension are highly human interactive and usually through the medium of phones. The various apps as well as our phone call can generate patterns for researchers as well as corporations to analyze. It made us wonder whether we should opt-in/opt-out in providing data for the platforms we’re using. Certainly using the data for the goals of improving urban environment conditions is a benefit. How safe is it for corporations and researcher to have access to these personal data coming from our devices?
- Atmosphere InFormed is a good starting point for us to approach this class. We have to understand the environment is affected by natural and social elements. The natural elements such as weather can be closed to being fixed, but social elements such as human interactions can not be modeled. Data collecting takes time and is needed to get a better understanding of the studied environment. Phenomena and human behaviors change over time, so how can we measure and analyze these data and use them accordingly to combat the issue, which could not be there affect the data collection?
