PROJECT 5 | THERMAL BATH | WALDO LAKE | DESIGN BOOK
  • DESCRIPTION
    • The earliest thermal baths emerged in the Indus Valley Civilization. The baths were at first not separated by gender or status but rather developed these qualities through exposure to various cultures. Throughout all these cultures, thermal baths were intended to cleanse the body and mind. Thermal baths achieve relaxation through sensory experiences. Northern Waldo Lake, this thermal bath intends to achieve relaxation through its splendid views of Waldo Lake and the surrounding landscape. The bath has a variety of enclosed and open spaces ranging in temperatures in order to operate year round. The bath, located on sloped landscape, descends into the lake to achieve a sense of reflection in the costumer.
