My vision is mass embedded into a sloping hillside. Surrounding the elevated orthogonal mass [where the bath would be atop of] is a floating platform (wood) supported by thin columns. This combination of embedded mass surrounded by a floating platform is the main idea in terms of construction. It would make for a smaller footprint allowing the natural context to be active in the design. In terms of sensory experience this room [and larger bathhouse complex] aims to emphasize touch, natural light, and views/sight. This bathhouse is important as it aims to provide a serene destiny of nourishment and relaxation that embraces the local environment and views.
