  • The relationship between figure and ground can also be seen as moments of intensity. The separation of figure and ground can represent moments of intensity as you have parts that rise from the ground and effect the rest of the piece.

Geometric vs. Algebraic Combinations

  • Geometric shapes and algebraic combinations are connected and have a strong bond. An example of this idea can be seen through the relationship individuals have with one another. How shapes work separately and then come together as one.

 

Distributed Individuals

  • We start at one point understanding something and then over time we don’t know who receives knowledge and what it even is anymore. This idea resembles a journey where you start at one end with an idea and leave with a completely different view.

From Object to Field

  • You start at one point as one object, and then split into many pieces, a field. One object has many different moving and important parts.

Flocks, Schools, Swarms, Crowds

  • You move in the same direction and pattern not on purpose but by design. Just by the way of nature, groups with commonalities come together and work as one, and go in one way.
