OUT/ LOUD is the largest Queer and Trans women’s music festival in the Pacific Northwest. OUT/LOUD has grown from a small gathering in a backyard originally named Lesopolosa to the largest queer and trans women’s music festival in the Northwest. OUT/LOUD is a much anticipated annual festival that is well known among the queer and allied communities of the Eugene/Portland area. OUT/LOUD was originally named Lesbopalooza in 2000. In 2006 it was renamed to OUT/LOUD in order to be more inclusive and representative of community and performers. The goal of OUT/LOUD is to create awareness of the LGBTQQI community. The event seeks to identify the University of Oregon as a place accepting of and promoting diversity, and to pave the way for Eugene as a hotspot for alternative and progressive music.

Edna Vazquez performs original compositions that pay homage to her many Latin American influences and frequently mixes in her own arrangements of traditional songs to bring the feeling of Mexico’s Folkloric music to her audience.

Puerto Rican vocalist Taína Asili carries on the tradition of her ancestors, fusing past and present struggles into one soulful and defiant voice. Her newest artistic work is with la Banda Rebelde (the Rebel Band), a six piece ensemble based in Albany, NY. This dynamic force brings love, resistance, and ancestral remembrance to venues, festivals, conferences and political events across the globe. Taína is dedicated to using her art as a tool for personal and social transformation. Her art is not only political, but based in the concrete organizing she is involved in, working in political prisoner liberation, prisoner rights, indigenous rights, environmental justice, and holistic health movements for over a decade.

Namoli Brennet is a top-notch songwriter who’s known for her insightful lyrics and poetic language, but it’s her live performances that set her apart from the conventional label of singer/songwriter. On stage she reveals deft acoustic guitar chops, often incorporating foot percussion, loops, vocoder and Kaki-King style tapping to create a broad, layered soundscape.

Seattle Alternative Soul artist, Whitney Mongé, is the best street performer in the Northwest according to the Seattle Weekly.  She began her music journey busking in the Pike Place Market in 2007,

Kim Archer is known for her raw, powerhouse performances and personable interaction with her audiences, Kim Archer has attracted a large and loyal following of fans in the Pacific Northwest and across the country. For over a decade this lifelong musician has entertained standing-room-only crowds with her vocally-driven soulful rock and honest songwriting. Whether she’s playing a premier venue with her award-winning band, or an intimate club for a solo show, Archer never disappoints. With guitar in hand she commands the stage playing her own original songs, or conjuring up a whole new vibe on vintage hits so that they sound fresh and wonderfully different.

This event is open to the public and all ages, but there will be  adult content after 8:30. $5 general admission. $4 students. No one turned away
