On April 30th- May 1st, the UO Womens’ Gold team played in the 13-team UCLA Classic down in sunny Los Angeles, California. The team defeated Stanford (3-0) and Cal State Bakersfield (5-0) in pool play on Saturday, placing 1st going into Sunday’s quarterfinal game. On Sunday morning, the team played a tough game against San Jose State and won 1-0 to advance to the semifinals. Later that day in the semifinals, on a warm afternoon, the team fought hard but fell 2-1 to UC Santa Barbara, who went on to win the tournament.
