Comic books and pictorial art in general are a great way to tell your story regardless of language.

Basically, a comic book consists of pictures in a sequence that can creatively tell a story. You can also add text, but the pictures can nevertheless carry most of your story.

Comic art as an educational tool links well with art centers, schools, and programs wishing to teach children and adults creative projects that emphasize learning through art. There are many examples of comic books that are being used for educational purposes. An example is “It’s up 2 you” educational comic about diabetes.

Want to get technical?

Another great example for our purposes is author and artist Scott McCloud’s classic comic book about comic drawing itself, called: Understanding Comics – The Invisible Art Form. This comic book demonstrates the main principles of pictorial storytelling and drawing techniques.
