The landscaping is in and looks beautiful!
We have a courtyard! Last week the landscapers brought in topsoil. This week they brought plants down the temporary stairs into the courtyard. Once all of the plants were in the courtyard, the temporary stairs were removed. The plants, which for the most part are native to Oregon, are currently being planted. We’re in! New furniture arrived last week and Science Library staff moved into their new offices! The CIS department room computer tables and computers have been installed as have the tables and computers in the drop-in computer lab. The wood ceiling above the circulation desk is being installed and looks beautiful! The zebrafish sun shade is up and looks great. The scaffolding should come down later this week. The staff meeting/work area, kitchen, and store room are almost finished.
The best part of yesterday’s hard-hat tour was seeing the installation of the Douglas fir paneling in the ceiling of the social commons and along on the south wall of both floors of the library. The concrete pours on the plaza are complete! Bricks are being applied on the south side of the building The concrete for the planters on the plaza has been poured Carpet is being installed in the lower level around the circumference of the courtyard
Concrete polishing of the social commons floor is complete and the floor has been covered for protection. A final polishing will take place in June.
