Promised Land is an award-winning documentary film about the ongoing struggle for federal recognition of the Chinook Indian Nation and the Duwamish Tribe.  Beyond that, it’s a film about what it means to be Indian today.

Panel discussion to follow, featuring Chinook Indian Nation Tribal Chairman Tony Johnson, Tribal Vice Chairman Sam Robinson, Filmmakers Vasant and Sarah Salcedo, Chinook tribal member and UO alumna Rachel Cushman, and songs from Chinook canoe family.

Sponsored by Native American Studies, UO Libraries, and the Native American Law Student Association.
