Spanish Language

We do not require Spanish language ability for the institute, but if you know or are learning Spanish you may enjoy practicing it.  Some past participants have asked about Spanish language study opportunities in Oaxaca for themselves or for trailing family members or partners.  The Instituto Cultural de Oaxaca (ICO) has a good reputation.  It is a pretty setting, too, and walkable from our center of activity.  The ICO typically offers summer classes that might interest trailing partners and family members, too:  cooking, weaving, ceramics, salsa dancing, painting alebrijes, literature, and Mexican cinema (the latter require intermediate Spanish or higher).
