The Ferry St. Bridge

The Ferry Street Bridge was first introduced in 1876 for the purpose of getting across the 187 mile-long Willamette River. The bridge is also useful for linking the cities of Coburg and Eugene. It was later rebuilt in 1950, however, it still doesn’t serve as a “safe” bridge to cross over, according to some. The “Travel and Leisure” magazine says the Ferry Street Bridge is the 10th most dangerous bridge in America. It seems so dangerous because it looks as if it is about to collapse for how old it is. But ever since the Ferry Street Bridge was built, it has helped make the city of Eugene expand by providing easy access to and from downtown Eugene.
