University of Oregon

Housing

Exchange and visiting students may choose to live in on-campus residence halls, university-owned apartments, or in off-campus housing. You are responsible for arranging your own housing. Please be aware that costs may vary quite significantly depending on where you choose to live.

On-Campus Housing

Living on-campus is a great way to meet people and become an active member of the campus community. On-campus residence halls are managed by the UO housing office. The housing office receives applications, application fees, matches roommates and completes the housing contracts for students. Since on-campus housing fills quickly, students should apply as soon as possible after applying to the UO. You will be able to register for university housing (both residence halls and apartments) after you are admitted to the UO.

Residence halls are fully furnished and include several options for meal plans. Please refer all on campus housing questions directly to housing@uoregon.edu.

Off-Campus Housing

If you choose to live off campus in an apartment, please contact your landlord before arrival to determine when and how you will be able to move in. Be sure to also check the leasing period before you sign your lease. Some of these leasing periods are for one full year and will charge you fees if you break the lease and choose to leave earlier.

Off-campus housing

Arriving before your move-in date: If you plan to arrive before your move-in date, you can either stay in a hotel or apply for the free short-term homestay program. Please make sure to apply by the deadline if you are interested in the short-term homestay program, as there are limited spaces.

If you plan to live on-campus, you can also apply for early move-in. Please note that there is a fee per day associated with early move-in. Please contact the Housing Department if you have questions about on-campus housing or early move-in.
