Writing Tutor

Do you love writing and reading? Are you interested in helping others learn strong writing strategies and developing your own skills in the process? Apply to be a writing tutor at the TAEC!

Writing tutors ask questions and provide feedback to help writers develop ideas, express themselves clearly, and meet the expectations of academic writing. Effective tutors can work with writers from any discipline, at any stage of the writing process, with any writing concern. They welcome writers warmly, listen carefully, communicate thoughtfully, and focus on learning.

We expect new writing tutors will work in-person in Knight Library and/or the Academic Success Hub (LLC North 123). Writing tutors generally work for at least one full academic year. Tutors start training and shadowing in Spring 2024 and will complete an additional College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) training in Fall 2024.

Pay: $16.00/hr
