Luncheon Invite: Engaging Stakeholders in Policy Discussions

“The presentation will focus on lessons learned in engaging stakeholders in policy discussions.”

Oregon Willamette Valley APWA

The Willamette Valley APWA Luncheon will be held from 11:45-AM to 1:00-PM on Tuesday August 18, 2015 at Kowloon’s Restaurant at 2222 Martin Luther King Blvd, in Eugene.

Engaging stakeholders in public works issues is often a difficult endeavor. Josh Bruce, director of the Oregon Partnership with Disaster Resilience at the University of Oregon and Beth Goodman, senior planner at ECONorthwest, will discuss their experiences with engaging stakeholders in meaningful discussions about complex planning and policy issues. Josh and Beth will present key principles of stakeholder engagement and provide examples of applying (or misapplying) these principles.

The Oregon APWA Chapter is an association of more than 800 professional engineers, technicians, operations staff, public works directors, business people, contractors, consultants and many others who join together to exchange ideas and information, promote education and training, and work as a team to meet professional and community needs. Nationally, APWA represents almost 30,000 public works professionals and offers excellent professional development programs and member services.
