Nomad Speaker Event

The Nomad Speaker Event features one graduate student with a faculty member. Each delivers a 20-minute talk, which enhances the understanding of the year’s research theme, and afterward engages in a conversation with those attending.

Speakers model the skills undergraduate participants will need to present their own research project during our annual undergraduate conference. They set an example by elaborating on their own process as it pertains to our students: Nomad staff shares with them the particular aspects on which mentees are working, both at the writing and public speaking levels. Simultaneously, students are prepped through workshops and by their mentors to take their own questions to the presenters.
