Architecture Students Lead Workshops and Accept Award at National Convention

Eight University of Oregon architecture students traveled to New York City in January to lead environmental performance workshops during the 2008 Winter Meeting of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). The group, accompanied by Associate Professor Alison Kwok, was comprised of members of the University’s student chapter of ASHRAE, the first student chapter in the state of Oregon.

UO Students win Design Competition for Pediatric Rehab Center

Two architecture students from the University of Oregon won national recognition for their submissions in the AIAS/Kawneer 2007 Student Design Competition. Students Ho Lee and Tyler Polich were both awarded Honorable Mentions for their designs of a 40,000 square foot pediatric outpatient rehabilitation center. The American Institute of Architects Students and Kawneer made the announcements in Washington, D.C. on Dec. 17, 2007. Each student receives a $500 cash prize.
